Organizing for the Adult Student

Are you a returning adult student? If, so come learn how to be organized for maximum academic success. If you put off projects until the last minute, have stress preparing for assignments, or find your work area messy and unorganized, then this class is for you.

Let's Get Organized

Get organized! Learn the basic of organization: what it means to be organized, why you should be organized, and the common obstacles that keep you from getting organized and how to overcome them. Then learn the secrets of a proven method for getting and staying organized. Bring a box of items from your home that needs organizing.

Organizing for Your Thinking Style

Every person has a natural thinking style. Even though we are forced to adapt based on our environment and circumstances, we find it much easier to function and work when we use our natural style. In this class, you will identify your personal style of thinking so you can come up with a strategy for organizing in a way that comes naturally to you. If other members in your family don't see things the same way you do, you will benefit from learning more about their style and how to find common ground when it comes to organizing.

Organizing for the Holidays

Are you tired of stressing out every holiday trying to keep up with the crazy schedule, card lists, parties, meals, gifts, etc...Well let me show you the key to a stress free holiday season by teaching you how to get it all organized. Bring your list of parties you are planning to attend or give, the list of people you want to send cards and/or gifts to and your budget. Leave with a Holiday Planning Notebook that you can use year after year.

Parenting

Got Kids? Get Them Organized (The Early Years)

In these times of excess (toys, art work, activities, etc) it can be hard to combat disorganization. In this class we will investigate some of the common culprits of clutter and how to combat them. Learn fun, but effective strategies for getting your kids to do their part to stay organized. Then see how organization must go beyond the kids to the family as a whole.

Got Kids? Get Them Organized (The School Years)

Do you and your kids have differing opinions on what it is to be organized? (My boys and I definitely do!) It is because you don't look a thing the same. Join me while we investigate your child's thinking style and explore ideas for getting and keeping them organized. Learn about your kids, ages 6 to teens, and how to work with them within their own style of organization.

How to Avoid Power Struggles with Your Kids

Ages 18 and up. Does it feel like your child is a master at hooking you into a power struggle, leaving you exhausted? Control is an interesting thing…like love, the more you give away, the more you get back. In this fun and interactive workshop parents will learn tools for understanding, preventing and redirecting power struggles. We will explore the 'art of choices' and the 'science of control'; how to replace anger, lectures and threats with empathy and logical consequences; and how to steer clear of the 'rant, rave and rescue' cycle that we so easily fall into.

Parenting with Love & Logic®

Love and Logic Parenting is a unique approach that reveals the secrets of successful parenting. This proven system helps you put the fun back into raising kids. No more arguing, nagging, or empty threats. Power struggles become a thing of the past! Kids learn to respect you (and other adults), be responsible for their own actions, and solve their own problems. In this 5-week class, you'll learn how to improve your parenting skills and raise happy, responsible, self-confident children who know how to solve their own problems.

A Division of Come To Order®

It's Only a Matter of Time (Ages 12-18)

A major struggle for middle and high school students these days is time management. You begin with a disadvantage - the part of your brain that controls executive function, which directs organization, time management and project planning, is not fully developed. You are then bombarded with so many choices for how to spend your time: homework, friends, family, texting, sports, Facebook, work, etc. It’s sometimes hard for you to decide where to focus their attention. Planning & prioritizing is the key to being able to get done the things that you need and want to! In this session, students will learn essentials skills for effective time management. We will then explore project management and the best way to plan and execute a successful project.

Where's My Homework? (Ages 12 - 18)

Papers, Papers, Everywhere! Are your grades suffering because you have trouble keeping up with all of your school papers? Is your binder bursting at the seams because you have every kept piece of paper since Sept? Is your backpack a black hole that mysteriously sucks things into another dimension, never to be found by you again? Then you need this class for you. In this session, students will learn successful paper management techniques.

Becoming an Organized Student (MS) (Grades 6-8)

NEW! Is your child underperforming academically because he/she just isn't organized; can't find homework in a "black-hole" backpack, turn papers in late, or has a desk crammed with papers falling out?

Studies have shown that kids who lack critical organizational skills are at greater risk of suffering from lower academic success, self-esteem and productivity, and may have higher levels of stress and anxiety. Learning essential life skills such as organization and time management can keep your child moving forward, become better organized at home & school, become proficient at time & project management, master effective study skills, increase self-esteem & confidence, grow to become more responsible, and realize their full potential. All materials and supplies included.  (Grades 6 - 8)
